Our history
It all began in 1993 with the opening of Toqué! restaurant on St-Denis st.
From the beginning, Toqué! stood out with its approach focusing on Quebec produce and quickly rose among the best restaurants of the province. Then, in 2010, Brasserie T! opened up in the Quartier des spectacles of Montreal. The concept follows the same philosophy in terms of product quality and freshness, but in a more casual atmosphere than that of its sister restaurant.
A second iteration, adjacent to the Alt+ hotel in Quartier DIX30, on Montreal's South Shore, opened its doors in the winter of 2019.
In 2019, another restaurant will also open its doors: Beau Mont. Following the philosophy of the group, this restaurant with an atmosphere between those of Toqué! and Brasserie T!, will offer a simple cuisine highlighting, once again, Quebec produce. Along with the restaurant, there will also be a grocery-counter where it will be possible to buy seasonally fresh ingredients, butchery meats and prepared takeaway meals.
Our philosopy
Respect, traceability, social responsibility and innovation
For over 25 years, we have followed the same philosophy and each of our restaurants is a continuation of it. At the heart of this philosophy is respect, as much in our relationships with producers, customers and employees as our attitude towards produce, traceability, social responsibility and innovation.
The artisan-producers nurture a local know-how which allows us to develop our expertise.
Our founders
Normand Laprise and Christine Lamarche
Chef Normand Laprise and Christine Lamarche met, over 25 years ago, in the kitchen of Citrus restaurant. Sharing a passion for Quebec products, they became business partners and opened Toqué! in 1993. Today, they are also the co-owners of the Brasserie T! restaurants and Beau Mont, restaurant and grocery-counter.
Our producers
Over 25 years ago, Toqué! changed Quebec's culinary world by putting the names of producers on its menu.
Today, these producers, who are true artisans, are still at the heart of our inspiration and we want, now more than ever, to highlight their contribution to the menus of each of our restaurants.
Our involvement
We are happy to support, in our own way, various causes and organizations. For several years now, we've collaborated with Fondation Ataxie Charlevoix-Saguenay in order to organize the Dîner des Producteurs which raises funds towards research of this still lesser-known condition. We have also teamed up with Société canadienne de la sclérose en plaques, Québec division, to organize the Toqué! pour la SP event.
Each of our restaurants also supports many organizations such as Moisson Montréal, Relais pour la vie, la Société Canadienne du Cancer, les Violons du Roy, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, l'Opéra de Montréal and many others.
